Car Audio Installation Policy
Car Audio Installation Policy
Effective Date: [24/062026]
This policy governs all car audio, infotainment, security, and dashcam installation services provided by [Scunthorpe Audio Ltd] ("we", "us", or "our"). By booking an installation, you accept these terms. [1]
1. Vehicle Inspection & Existing Issues
- Pre-Installation Check: Our technicians will inspect your vehicle's dash, electrical functions, and battery health before work begins. [1]
- Pre-Existing Faults: We are not liable for any pre-existing issues discovered during inspection, such as cracked trim panels, dead battery cells, or blown factory fuses.
- Refusal of Service: We reserve the right to refuse installation if the vehicle's electrical system is deemed unsafe or heavily modified.
2. Customer-Supplied Equipment
- No Fitment Guarantee: If you bring your own audio gear (e.g., your own radio, subwoofers, or wiring kits), you are responsible for ensuring they fit your specific vehicle make and model. [1, 2, 3]
- Dead-on-Arrival (DOA): If customer-supplied equipment fails to work out of the box, you are still liable for the labour time spent installing and testing it.
- No Warranty on Parts: We do not provide any warranty on parts or gear that you did not purchase directly from us.
3. Dash Alterations & Fitment Components
- Required Accessories: Modern vehicles usually require specialized dash kits, wire harness adapters, and steering wheel control modules. These are billed separately from the basic installation labour. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
- Modifications: Some custom installations require cutting or drilling into factory plastic or metal brackets. We will always inform you beforehand, but we are not liable for restoring the vehicle back to original factory condition later. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
4. Vehicle Battery & Coding Disclaimer
- Battery Disconnection: We frequently disconnect the vehicle battery during installation to ensure electrical safety.
- Factory Reset: Disconnecting the battery may reset your vehicle's clock, trip computer, or factory anti-theft radio codes. You are responsible for providing factory radio codes if required. [1, 2, 3]
5. Labour Warranty & Claims
- Workmanship Guarantee: We guarantee our installation labour for a period of [e.g., 12 months / Lifetime] from the date of service.
- Exclusions: This warranty is immediately voided if anyone else alters, tinkers with, or adds to the wiring we installed.
- Claim Window: Any claims regarding loose trim panels, rattles, or electrical faults must be reported within [48 Hours] of collecting your vehicle.
